Oaklawn Garden Residence

This is the Oaklawn Garden residence, built in 1854.
In this area, homes of this vintage are often painted white or cream. I think that green suits this residence, allowing it to remain in harmony with the gardens which Mr. and Mrs. Cloyes generously share with visitors.
Please do click on the photos for a more detailed view.

It does fit in nicely.

It certainly is a beautiful spot and the house blends in so well that it would be stark naked in white.

Hi Andrea...

We're home again!

I've so enjoyed seeing your photos of Memphis. We're wondering what the gardens are like during Fall..say late September into October. I think we might welcome a weekend getaway around about that time!

It does look like a very peaceful place to stop and take time out. That's a lot like your blog. Slows you down in a good way.

The green house is very fitting for this little paradise.
