Wysteria
The wysteria peaked this past weekend, and has been just beautiful! This was one of my mother's favorite spring blooms (she loved anything purple), and we always had fun looking for it to bloom each year.
If you've never smelled wysteria before, it is just heavenly. The aroma reminds me a lot of lilacs, which don't grow too well in our area. Wysteria only blooms for a bit over a week, but it is always such a delight.

From a big purple lover too, these are just so beautiful, and so is your photo of them.
Wow, beautiful website in a beautiful city. Thanks for sharing. Love the scent and color of the wisteria also.
I like these because they can be a small bush or as large as a tree. They bloomed here about a week or so ago.
Ephemeral divinity!
Ah, wysteria! I remember seeing the Johnny Mercer house covered with this fragrant flower in Savannah, GA a few years ago. It is both beautiful and delicious smelling.
beautiful shot, i've seen several wisteria around here too in bloom that i wanted to capture. my mom actually has some growing in her yard also, it really does smell good...
Beautiful photo and nice memory of your Mom!!
Whoa! The essence of spring. Fantastic flower coloring.
makes me think about my book. :)
Beautiful! We don't much Wisteria in this area, but we have tons of lilac!
Thanks for the nice comments on my blog. We had a stressful few weeks: being sick, waiting my daughters heart tests, etc. Things are back to normal now and I have time to relax and keep up with my photo blog!
Wonderful. I can almost smell the smells. Wow.
Oh so very nice. Thank you again for giving me spring. This is lovely!
I am starting to believe that shooting flowers is becoming your forte! Great job!
wysteria...something I haven't smelled for quite a few years! It does not grow well here in Chicago.... it grew pretty well in West virginia...where I grew up!
I love wysteria, sooo beautiful! Thank you for your comment yesterday on Bluff Area Daily!
Beautiful! Our wisteria has already come and gone. I love the scent of it.
