It's Freezing!!...

I know that we Southerners are often thought to be a bit wimpy when it comes to the winter and cold weather...but this is cold! Even the poor iron griffins in this fountain are freezing! I love how they almost seem to be hiding in a little den in the midst of all that ice. I plan on doing the very same thing tonight, hiding in my den with a hot drink and a good book!

We took these photos this afternoon at Saddle Creek, a shopping center in the Germantown area. I also wanted to share the photos from a little distance, to show you just how eye-catching this "ice sculpture" is.

The most ironic thing is that the weather forecast here predicts that we will be near 60 degrees on Sunday.

Come on, Spring!...

REALLY? 60?? That's so crazy. Ice one day, warmth the next. Sounds like Texas at times. Have a great weekend!

That is a dramatic photo for telling the tale about how cold it is in Germantown.

The reason I know as much as I do about your area is because I have family who live there and I visit fairly often. I'll be back in mid-February, can hardly wait.

Wow, thats cold and a super picture. I wonder what the weight of the fountain is with all of the ice.

A blustery Saturday here in Norwich, but I hope you're having fun wherever you are! Have a lovely weekend!

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and your kind comments. Drop by again!

This is just one of the joys of living up north. Remember, folks, we often get a lot colder than your freezer.

Great photo! We have a small fountian in our town that freezes over like that. If its 60 degrees, it will be gone in a snap.
